‘Modi govt. has failed even Hindus’

DMK president M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the goal of his party was to defeat “the corrupt AIADMK regime and the communal and autocratic BJP at the Centre that protects the State government”. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had let down even Hindus.

Addressing the Mupperum Vizha at Villuppuram, Mr. Stalin said the venue was a proof that the DMK was fully ready for the elections.

“You may ask whether I mean the byelections to Tiruvarur and Thiruparankundram constituencies or the local body elections or the Assembly elections or the Lok Sabha polls. Whatever may be the nature of the elections, the DMK will emerge victorious,” he said.

Accusing Mr. Modi of running a government against democratic norms, he said the Centre had earned a reputation that matched that of the fascist regimes of Adolf Hitler and Mussolini.

Mr. Stalin said though the BJP sought to create trouble in Tamil Nadu by saying that it would not tolerate even the slightest insult to the Hindus, it had actually failed to protect their interests. He wondered what had happened to the promise that ₹15 lakh would be deposited in every individual’s accounts.

Alleging that the AIADMK government had destroyed the administration and was playing second fiddle to save its skin, Mr. Stalin said that those who were in power were “thoroughly unqualified jokers.”

“We have to uproot the corrupt and slave AIADMK government. We can do it,” he said and called upon the cadre to help him achieve what his father wanted to achieve.
