VOLLEYBALL: SBR sweeps Durfee

Senior captain Vanessa Nightingale had eight digs, five kills and four aces as Somerset Berkley Regional swept Durfee 25-23, 25-19, 25-18 in volleyball on Friday at Durfee High School.

Junior Jess Albin added five kills and three single blocks and senior captain Caroline Francisco came up with 15 digs.

The Raiders are 3-2.

For Durfee, Barbara Silva (16 kills), Sophie McDonnell (5 kills), Salene Mayette (3 kills, 4 aces), Emma Rezendes (25 assists) Gabby Streeto (defense) were standouts.

New Bedford 3, Bishop Stang 0: At O'Brien Gymnasium in Dartmouth, Grace Botelho (3 kills, 3 aces), Kaitlyn Hotte (8 assists), Michelle King (2 kills) and Julia Michael (6 digs, 2 kills) were the top players for Stang in this 25-13, 25-16, 25-6 loss.

Bristol-Plymouth 3, Westport 1: At Cariglia Gymnasium in Westport, Sydney Pacheco (14 assists, 8 aces, 3 kills) and Sophie Pawlak (7 kills, 5 aces, 3 blocks) were top performers for the Wildcats (2-2) in this 25-10, 25-27, 25-19, 25-17 Mayflower Athletic Conference loss.
