FALL RIVER — This is how you take the pressure off your offense.

Case High's defense held Diman Regional to 33 total yards in a 7-0 football win on Friday night at Diman's Harrington Athletic Complex.

Case is 2-0, Diman 0-2.

Case quarterback Daniel Silva scored on a 12-yard rush with 36 seconds left in the first half. Jared Rebello kicked a low screamer of an extra point.

Diman's deepest offensive penetration was the Case 45, after the first three plays of the game. The Bengals (0-2) did not get into Case territory in the second half and finished with three first downs.

"I think we stayed together as a brotherhood," Case fullback/linebacker Ty Couto said. "We talk about family's our main thing. And I think we really came together as a family. They (Diman) have a really good back in King and we just played really well together."

J.C. King, who rushed for 167 yards last week against West Bridgewater, was limited to minus-6 yards on five rushes.

"It's something that we're trying to pride ourselves on being a team that can run the ball and stop the run," Case coach Anthony Palladino said. "Try to make teams as one-dimensional as possible. The kids did a great job on defense tonight."

"They played tough defense," Diman coach Steve Winarski said. "They probably keyed on King a lot."

Case managed 153 yards, with Couto rushing 21 times for 87 yards. Case all-star running back Chris Costa (hand injury) sat out for the second straight week. Diman was minus a starting wide receiver.

Both teams committed two turnovers — a quick exchange of fumbles in the opening four minutes and then a quick pair of interceptions in the second quarter.

Silva returned the Case pick interception 53 yards to the Case 7. Diman's gritty defense came up big and Cristian Gonzales made a third-down interception at the back of the end zone.

But after a three-and-out for Diman, Case drove 44 yards for the touchdown, Silva scoring on third-and-6.

On a drive starting late in the third quarter, Case drove from its own 33 to the Diman 23 before being stopped.
