Two killed in Varanasi

VARANASI: Miscreants reportedly shot dead two persons in separate incidents in a gap of few hours under Dashashwamedh police station in Varanasi on Friday afternoon. One person died on the spot while another unidentified person succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

According to reports, a 32-year-old youth Rakesh Agrahari was shot by unknown miscreants near Pataleshwar temple of Bengali Tola locality. The locals rushed him to the divisional hospital in Kabirchowra area, where he was declared dead.

In another incident an unidentified man was shot at by the miscreants in Nayi Sadak area. He was taken to the divisional hospital, where he died during treatment. The police said that the matters were being investigated. Police lodged cases against unknown persons in both the incidents.
