Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan has described the Supreme Court judgment on his petition in the ISRO espionage case “a watershed in the history of human rights litigation in the country”.
“Very rarely have erring officers faced action for their wrongdoings This case is one such, and it would be a benchmark for others who have been unjustly condemned. Justice has been delivered, though belatedly. I am happy. Hopefully, it will serve as a deterrent in the future”, he said.
Mr Narayanan said he would dwell on the subtler points of the judgement only after studying the verdict. Moved by his cause, many lawyers had argued free for him. He hoped that the committee appointed by the Supreme Court would unravel the conspiracy behind the fabricated case against him and others.
