ACB arrests DJB Magistrate's staffer in bribery case

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Friday arrested a Reader of a Special Metropolitan of the Jal Board on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for settling a case in south Delhi, an said.

"Accused Rajender Kumar Gautam, 52, of Lajpat Nagar was arrested by an ACB team for taking Rs 5,000 from the complainant who had came to deposit the in at Lajpat Nagar," of Police (ACB) told IANS.

"A resident of Najafgarh, the complainant told the ACB that Gautam was demanding a bribe for reducing the amount," Roy said.

"Gautam initially demanded more money for the challan and then demanded a bribe to reduce it. The challan receipt was issued for Rs 1,000," the added.
