Paul Walker Tribute Car Meet In California Turns Violent

A car meetup in California paying tribute to the late Paul Walker turned violent last night as crowds of unruly attendees wreaked havoc.

The event was held in the parking lots of a Best Buy and Home Depot in West Covina, California. While the event was meant to be peaceful, it didn’t take long for hot-headed men to start throwing punches and ripping huge burnouts and performing dangerous stunts.

Videos from the event show the moment a member of the crowd got in a violent altercation with a security officer called to the event in his pickup. Wild punches were thrown between the pair before the crowds broke them up.

It’s unclear what triggered the violent fight but immediately afterwards, wild crowd members can be seen jumping on the hood of the security truck and smashing its windscreen. The wild scenes didn’t stop there.

It remains unclear if anyone was injured in the chaos.

Some drivers took to the parking lot to perform dangerous burnouts and donuts just feet away from other attendees. Clouds of smoke poured up from the parking lot and a BMW M6 even destroyed a tire while sliding around.

Before long, police arrived on the scene and many drivers quickly tried to scramble. However, authorities were able to block in the parking lot and according to Jalopnik, towed some of the cars in attendance.

The local police department has yet to issue a statement about the event and it remains unclear if anyone from the crowd was arrested or charged.
