Finally, Apple has added DSDS or Dual SIM Dual Standby feature in 2018 iPhone models. The smartphones have a single-SIM slot but with the eSIM support they can switch between different networks. In India, Airtel and Reliance Jio will provide eSIM cards for the new iPhones.
Apple’s iPhone Xs Max has the largest display ever in an iPhone. It features a 6.5-inch OLED Super Retina display. The iPhone 8 Plus sports 5.5-inch screen.
These two new iPhone models are the first to feature water and dust resistance with IP68 rating. So they can standby immersion in water up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.
Apple has finally let go of the TouchID sensor and has moved completely to FaceID tech in smartphones. All three have a notch at the top that includes FaceID sensor (enabled by the TrueDepth camera).
Apple has also introduced ‘Smart HDR’ feature in the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR. This camera feature clicks multiple shots in different exposure levels and more to deliver better highlight and shadows in an image.
It is also possible to record content with full stereo audio, giving a more immersive feel while playback.
Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR run on the A12 Bionic 6-core processor with next-gen Neural engine. The processor has two performance cores that are claimed to be 15% more powerful than A11 Bionic, along with four efficiency cores that use up to 50% lower power than A11 Bionic.
Both Apple iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max come with 512GB inbuilt storage variants, which again is a first in iPhones. Until last year, the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus were maxed out at 256GB.
