DC reviews arrangements ahead of Prez Kovind’s visit

Belagavi: Deputy commissioner S Ziaullah on Friday conducted a meeting to review preparations ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Belagavi on Saturday. The President will be participating in the inaugural of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Karnatala Law Society and Raja Lakhamgouda Law College.
The DC strictly warned officials to follow protocols to give a warm welcome to the President and make his stay in Belagavi pleasant. He directed them to be alert at every aspect including traffic management on the route the President will take.

He directed education officials to declare a holiday to all schools within city limits as students may face transportation problems because of road closures.

Ziaullah visited the venue and reviewed the route the dignitaries will travel to reach it and asked officials to ensure all arrangements are made on time.

On Saturday, Ziaullah and chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will welcome the President at Sambra Airport at 11am while the Dharwad DC M Deepa will welcome the Chief Justice of India at Huballi airport.

Janata Darshan at SVS

Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will meet public to address their grievance's at a Janata Darshan programme to be held from noon to 3pm at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS) on Saturday. In the backdrop of Kumaraswamy’s first Janata Darshan in Belagavi, the district administration has made all arrangements for it. Ziaullah said people with grievances must reach SVS one hour prior and register their names.

A special team from Chief Minister’s Office will arrive to register people’s names and will give each of them a serial number after the registration process.

Ziaullah added that grievances related to transfers of government employees will not permitted at the Janata Darshan programme.

“People requesting medical relief fund should bring their original Aadhaar card or BPL card, hospital bills and treatment details along with a written application. People from any corner of Belagavi district can come and directly tell the chief minister about their grievances,” he added.
