Before embarking on campaigns in the crucial States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh next week, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday cleared several appointments, including nine new AICC secretaries and a screening committee for poll-bound Telangana.
Mr. Gandhi also filled up the crucial farmers’ cell of the party that had been lying vacant for many years.
Senior Congress leader Bhakt Charan Dass is the chairperson of Telangana Screening committee, while Jothimani Sennimalai and Sharmistha Mukherjee have been made members of the panel.
Former Lok Sabha MP Nana Patole, who switched from the BJP earlier this year, has been made the chairman of the Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress.
Assam Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi was made secretary for Nagaland while Pradyot Deb Burman from Tripura was made AICC secretary of Sikkim, said a statement of the Congress.
