GURUGRAM: City police have busted a
gang involved in making and selling fake driving licences and
Aadhaar cards, and arrested one of the gang members in Palam Vihar. Three fake driving licences were recovered from his possession.
The accused, identified as
Mewat resident Jallaudin, was produced in a city court and sent to one-day police custody on Thursday. Cops are trying to nab the kingpin of the gang, who is allegedly operating from Mewat.
Police got a tip-off that Jallaudin would be coming to Gurugram on Wednesday on a fake
driving licence to deliver fake identity cards to clients. Cops set up a check post near Devilal Park in Palam Vihar and apprehended Jallaudin.
His
Hyundai Accent car, along with three fake driving licences, were seized.
During interrogation, he revealed that Akram, a resident of Wasi village in Mewat, made the fake cards and he delivered them to the addresses given by their “customers”. An FIR was registered against the gang under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 478 (trade marks), 471 (forging documents) and 120B (conspiracy) of the IPC at Palam Vihar police station.
The driving licences recovered from the accused were supposed to be delivered to a house in Ghasula village in Badshapur and another in Malibu Town in Sector 47. Both the licences are allegedly issued by RTA Gurugram.
