The Tamil Nadu government Friday announced Anna Medals to 128 personnel attached to the police department and other uniformed services in the state to mark the birth anniversary of late Chief Minister C N Annadurai.
While 100 recipients of the medal are from the police department (from various ranks), the others include 10 fire and rescue service personnel, 10 prison service personnel, five home guards and a deputy director from forensic sciences department, an official release said here.
The Forensic science department scientists has been included in the list this year, it said.
The medals are awarded on the occasion of Annadurai's birth anniversary every year.
The awardees will receive a bronze medal and a grant according to their ranks as specified in the Medal Rules, the release said.
