NAVI MUMBAI: A unique
eco-friendly Ganpati of a city based social activist is being called the `Alphabet Ganesha' because the idol's backdrop contains all the
Hindi alphabets in
Devnagari script. Each of these alphabets is designed such, that they all look like Lord Ganesha.
The Seawoods based activist,
Sundeep Sharma, said that the stress is on `education and literacy for all', since God resides in each every letter, that go on to make up words, and ultimately messages of wisdom and knowledge.
"Since Ganpati is also known as the god of knowledge, I felt that it would be a good idea to bring home an idol which was not only eco-friendly, but also creatively designed in such a fashion that all the letters showcased resemble the Lord himself,'' added Sharma.
In order to custom make this idol, Sharma had to spend several weeks in advance with the artistes to ensure that each of the Devnagri script lettering is perfectly carved to make them look like miniature Ganeshas behind the main idol.
The activist will be keeping the idol at home for the first five days of Ganeshotsav.
