CM security personnel, STF member arrested during raid at hotel in Sangrur

PATIALA: The Sangrur police on Friday arrested a cop posted in the chief minister's security and another who is a member of the Special Task Force against drugs during a raid at a hotel in Sangrur.

The two cops were found with sex workers and were placed under arrest by the Sangrur police.

According to the police, they had initially detained seven couples from the same hotel and after verifying their relationships, four couples who were either married or engaged to each other were let off. While, three couples were placed under arrest and a case under section 3 and 4 of Immoral Trafficking Act was registered against them.

While, the Sangrur police has withheld the names of the cop in the CM security and the member of the Special Task Force, but they have confirmed that the two had been arrested from the hotel.

Station House Officer of Sangrur City 1 police station, Ramandeep Singh, said they have also named owner of the hotel Gurinderjit Singh in the FIR. Gurinderjit Singh is son of a former Superintendent of police.
