NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Oppo announced the Oppo F9 along with the F9 Pro in India last month. The company has now officially launched the smartphone in the country. The smartphone is the toned down version of Oppo F9 Pro and comes with the Diamond pattern rear panel same as the Oppo F9 Pro.

Price and availability

The company has priced the Oppo F9 at Rs 19,990 and it will come in Mist Black and Stellar Purple colour options. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting September 15. Going by the price, the device will compete against the recently launched Samsung Galaxy J8 and the Honor Play smartphones.

Specifications

The Oppo F9 comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2280 pixel resolution. The display features water drop like notch and has the aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system topped with company’s own layer of customisation.


The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The device offers 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. The Oppo F9 comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and dual SIM functionality.


Oppo F9 sports a dual rear camera with 16MP primary sensor with f/1.85 aperture, LED flash and a 2MP secondary sensor. The front of the device house a 16MP front facing camera. Measuring 156.7 x 74.0 x 7.99mm, the smartphone is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery and unlike the Oppo F9 Pro, the Oppo F9 doesn’t offer the VOOC fast charging support.


On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The OPPO F9 comes in Mist Black and Stellar Purple colors, is priced at Rs. 19,990 and will go on sale in India from September 15 online exclusively on Flipkart as well as offline stores.
