Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR launched; Price, features and all you need to know

Apple's new iPhone lineup is finally here. The company unveiled iPhone Xs, Xs Max and iPhone XR at an event held at Steve Jobs Theater in its Apple Park Campus in Cupertino. Apple iPhone Xs comes in three storage variants -- 64GB, 256GB and 512GB; priced at Rs 99,900, Rs 1,14,900 and Rs 1,34,900 respectively.

The big-screen iPhone Xs Max price starts a price of Rs 1,09,900 (64GB). The other two variants offering 256GB and 512GB storage are priced at Rs 1,24,900 and Rs 1,44,900 respectively.

The cheapest 2018 iPhone -- iPhone XR -- has a starting price tag of Rs 76,900 (64GB). iPhone XR's 128GB variant is priced at Rs 81,900 and the 256GB variant at Rs 91,900. There is no 512GB variant for the iPhone XR.

iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will go on sale in India starting September 28. Apple is launching the devices in India during the second wave, along with 24 other countries.

iPhone XR will go on pre-orders in India starting October 19 and will be available for purchase starting October 26. This is the only iPhone in the company's 2018 lineup that is going on pre-order in India in first wave itself.

All three iPhones come with dual-SIM support, a first for an iPhone. While the iPhone XR uses LTE Advanced, the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max use Gigabit-class LTE dual-SIM through the use of a nano-SIM and digital eSIM. At the event, Apple announced that China will get physical dual-SIM support card slot. In India, users will have to use e-SIM. The list of carriers supporting e-SIM shared by Apple on stage includes Airtel and Reliance Jio. More details on this are expected to be out soon.

Both iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max get a 512GB internal storage variant. Till now, 256GB was the highest internal storage in iPhones.

Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone XR come with IP68 water and dust resistant rating. With the latest upgrade, Apple iPhones can withstand maximum depth of 2 metre up to 30 minutes.

All three new iPhones -- iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR -- run on the company's own A12 Bionic processor, with next-generation Neural Engine. As per Apple, "It uses real-time machine learning to transform the way you experience photos, gaming, augmented reality and more."

All the 2018 iPhones will run on Apple iOS 12 out-of-the-box. The previous iPhones will get the the latest iOS update on September 17.

The three latest generation iPhones have exactly same front-facing camera. All sport 7-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and Retina Flash.

Apple iPhone Xs and Xs Max come with the same dual-rear camera setup. Both iPhone Xs models have same cameras featuring two 12-megapixel cameras and improved True Tone flash.

Being a slightly more budget-friendly option, the iPhone XR has a single rear camera of 12-megapixel camera with True Tone flash.

Both Apple iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max sport OLED display. The iPhone Xs comes with a 5.8-inch display 2436 x 1125 resolution, while the iPhone XS Max has a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 2688 x 1242 resolution. Both also have HDR display support.

Just like iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the Apple iPhone XR has an LCD display. The new iPhone sports a 6.1-inch screen with 1792x828-pixel resolution with 326 ppi. Unlike iPhone Xs models, this iPhone lacks HDR display support.

Apple has claimed that iPhone Xs lasts 30 minutes longer than iPhone X while the iPhone Xs Max lasts 90 minutes longer than iPhone X.

As per Apple, the iPhone XR is claimed to offer 90 minutes longer battery life than iPhone 8 Plus.
