To equip 13 premises in State with rooftop panels

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will equip all its 13 offices in the State with solar rooftop systems soon, said Director General of Police and ACB DG R.P. Thakur.

Mr. Thakur inaugurated the system at the ACB Krishna district office at Gollapudi here on Wednesday.

ACB Directors Shanka Brata Bagchi and P. Hari Kumar, OSD Abraham Lincoln, SPs Mohan Rao, Gangadharam, Shireen Begum and K. Jagannadha Reddy, Krishna district DSP S.V.V. Prasada Rao, and NREDCAP officials participated. Ramesh and Ayush Hospitals donated Rs. 4 lakh each for setting up the 20KW system, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). NREDCAP has extended Rs. 2 lakh subsidy, the ACB officials said.

Target

The government has set a target to add 5000 MW solar power projects by the year 2020 and 10,000 by 2022 under the AP Solar Power Policy 2016. There is a good potential for generating solar power on rooftops and wasteland,” said Mr. Thakur.

He appealed to the people to make use of solar energy to overcome the power problem in the coming days.
