Vadodara: The Panchmahal police has busted a gang of robbers believed to be involved in a series of robberies in the region. Four members of the gang were nabbed during investigations of a robbery in Dalwada near Godhra in the district.
During the probe of the robbery that took place 20 days back, the police got information that the gang involved in the incident included persons from different villages in the Dahod district. The police also got information that the members of the gang were to travel from Limkheda to Ahmedabad in a bus.
The police kept a watch and nabbed four persons – Maju Mohaniya, Malsing Parmar, Suresh Bariya, Kishan Sangod. All the four accused are residents of different villages in the Dhanpur taluka of Dahod district.
The accused have admitted to the robbery in Dalwada during preliminary interrogation. They have claimed that four others were involved in the robbery and have given their details to the police. It has also come to light that the gang had sold robbed ornaments to one Mehul Panchal from Dahod.
The gang had held a family ransom inside its residence in Dalwada and conducted a robbery at the house. The accused had used a country-made firearm as well as other sharp and blunt weapons to conduct the robbery.
