Bhubaneswar: Agitating block grant teachers peform Ganesh Puja

Agitating block grant teachers in Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar performed Ganesha puja at an open spot on the Mahatma Gandhi Marg. The block grant teachers in various schools and colleges have been sitting on dharna since the last one month seeking fulfillment of their various demands. The demands of these teachers include abolition of the block grant system, regularising their job, payment of higher salary and pension after retirement. The government has held various rounds of discussions with the agitating teachers but no agreement could be reached. The teachers now hope to garner popular support by holding Ganesh puja.
