The decapitated body of a youth was found near Alagud village in Kalaburagi district on Tuesday night.
The police identified the deceased as Siddhoji Bhosle (30), a resident of Bhavani Nagar in Kalaburagi. He was working at the Karnataka Milk Federation as a driver.
Superintendent of Police N. Shashikumar, addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, said that Bhosle may have been murdered due to a financial dispute.
The police suspected that Bhosle may have been killed by his friend Nagesh Pujari after a party late at night on the outskirts of Alagud village.
The victim’s father, Bheemrao Bhosle, who has lodged a missing person case, said that Nagesh Pujari could have killed his son. Bheemrao Bhosle said that Nagesh Pujari had borrowed ₹ 80,000 hand loan from the owner at his work place.
The owner reached Nagesh Pujari’s house with the help of Siddhoji Bhosle. In revenge, Nagesh Pujari, along with his friends, might have killed Siddhoji Bhosle for giving his address. The police have launched a search for the culprits.
