Nagpur: Ravindra Nagpure’s live-in partner was quizzed by Sakkardara police on Thursday in connection with the murder-suicide case, where Nagpure killed his wife Meena before ending his own life earlier this week. It’s learnt that the woman had called up Nagpure several times, including at 11.30pm, on Tuesday when the gory drama with a firearm was playing out.
Police are as yet unsure about the motive in the case. Police are also in the dark regarding the source of the gun which Nagpure used to fire one shot at Meena at her rented apartment at Sarvashree Nagar on Tuesday. Nagpure had pumped a bullet into his own chest too after injuring Meena.
Sources from Sakkardara police station said the woman was questioned regarding her role in Nagpure’s life. The cops are also trying to find out whether she had any involvement in the murder-suicide saga. After separating from her husband three years ago, the woman had grown close to Nagpure, until he started staying at her place. The woman, who operates a tiffin service, had first come in contact with Nagpure when he started taking her tiffin.
Meena is learnt to be associated with a spiritual movement. She used to earn a livelihood by working as an agent at government offices. Police are also trying to find out why Nagpure had to take a huge loan when he already had a well-settled business.
