Baroka chairperson: Chiefs haven't approached us for Chawapiwa

2018-09-11 16:23

Cape Town - Baroka chairperson Kurishi Mphahlele has denied any contact between Kaizer Chiefs and Bakgaga over the services of star winger Talent Chawapiwa.

Chawapiwa has impressed for Baroka of late - putting in a standout performance during Amakhosi's recent 1-1 draw with Wedson Nyirenda's side.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but Mphahlele has issued a firm denial that there is any chance of the Zimbabwean leaving just yet.

"Chiefs have not contacted us yet about signing Chawapiwa," said Mphahlele, according to Isolezwe.

"We would not sell Chawapiwa to Chiefs if they made an offer, we can't sell him now. Teams need to learn to go and scout players the same way we are doing it."

Mamelodi Sundowns have also been linked with the Zimbabwean star, but as things stand, he remains a Baroka player and will be looking to help them push for a top eight finish this season.
