Coimbatore: Law would do its duty in the corruption charges against Tamil Nadu ministers, said minister for Tamil official language and Tamil culture Ma Foi K Pandiarajan in the city on Tuesday.
He said as CBI was acting as per its duty, the state government has not been hindering it in any way and has been co-operating with the investigations.

Pandiarajan was in the city to participate in the 125th anniversary celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s address at the parliament of religions in Chicago. Speaking to reporters after the event, Pandiarajan said they were expecting a favourable response from the governor regarding the release of the seven convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. He said the governor has been discussing the issue with legal experts.

Speaking on Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s speech at the event through video conferencing, Pandiarajan said Modi had told students that Tamil Nadu was in the forefront among other states in implementing the Centre’s loan schemes.

Pandiarajan said only 750 youngsters had been selected for availing surety-free loans up to Rs 5crore under the state’s New Entrepreneur-Cum-Enterprise Development Scheme (Needs). The scheme aims at giving loans to 1,000 first-time entrepreneurs from the state. Pandiarajan said youngsters must equip themselves to avail loans through this scheme.

He dismissed BJP president Amit Shah’s statement that the party will be in power for the next 50 years.
