Mumbai: Entertainment network Viacom18 Media has consolidated all revenues under chief operating officer Raj Nayak, as part of a management restructuring exercise aimed at pushing growth across different lines of business.

Under the new structure, Nayak-—who was elevated to COO in May last year—will be in-charge of advertisement sales operations for the group. All advertising sales heads will report to him. Nayak will continue to report to group CEO Sudhanshu Vats.

The joint venture between Reliance Industries and US media conglomerate Viacom Inc. has also elevated Manisha Sharma — who was heading programming for ‘Colors’ — to a newly created role of chief content officer, Hindi Mass Entertainment (HME). In her new role, she will head content for the HME cluster and report to Vats. “The first decade of Viacom18 marked the hyper-growth phase for us with ~50X growth in topline. In order to make Viacom18 future-ready and dial up growth across different lines of business, it is imperative to drive synergies, leverage scale and build content capabilities across screens,” Vats said.

“As we step into our next phase, it is important that we shape an organisational structure that allows us to retain the garage-nimbleness that got us here while enabling Viacom18’s independent business lines to leverage the synergies that consolidation brings.”

Among other changes, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, who was heading the kids cluster for the group, has been given additional responsibility of HME channels ‘Colors’ and ‘Rishtey’.

Ajit Andhare, who was COO of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, has been made COO of Viacom18 Studios, which will include Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Tipping Point, the group’s digital content production arm.
