GURUGRAM: A
Malibu Towne resident and member of the national railway advisory council was allegedly thrashed, along with his family, by a group of youths after an
argument over
parking space on Sunday evening.
According to police, around 6:20pm on Sunday, 45-year-old Sanjay Tyagi reached his house in his car. Two youths had parked a Bullet bike and a scooty outside his house. Tyagi’s son asked the duo to move their vehicles so Tyagi could drive his
car into his parking lot. They dragged the vehicles to the side but started abusing Tyagi’s son. Later more people joined them and allegedly attacked Tyagi and his family, including his wife, son and nephew, with weapons.
“One of the boys identified himself as Paras Sehrawat and threatened to call his brother to the spot. He gathered three others and two of them identified themselves as Aman Yadav and Prashant Bhardwaj. Later the brother, Praveen Sehrawat, came and attacked me with a sharp weapon and I was injured on my left ear. I fell down and they started kicking me. Soon five-six youths arrived in a Swift D-zire and another bike, carrying sticks and iron rods. They thrashed me and forcibly entered my house. They also thrashed my son, wife and nephew, but luckily, our neighbours reached the spot and called police. The youths fled after threatening to kill us,” said Tyagi in his complaint.
Police have seized the Swift D-zire car and the Bullet bike, which were left behind by the youths. An FIR has been registered against Paras Sehrawat, Praveen Sehrawat, Aman Yadav, Prashant Bhardwaj and other unknown youths under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (causing hurt), 452 (house trespassing), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC at the Sadar police station. “There was no provocation for an attack such as this. It seems that the two youths were waiting outside my house, looking for an excuse to pick up a fight and
thrash us. I want immediate arrests,” Tyagi told TOI. “The youths will be arrested as soon as possible,” said inspector Arjun Dhundhara, SHO of the police station.
