CHENNAI: The Guduvanchery police on Monday arrested three youths who had stolen two-wheelers parked on roadsides and sold them at cheaper prices. The police recovered 26 stolen two-wheelers, worth Rs 35 lakh, from them.
Two of the suspects were nabbed during a vehicle check. The duo -- identified as Palani Thangam, 20 of Kelambakkam, and Vijayakumar, 30, of Guduvanchery -- were riding on a costly two-wheeler. As they failed to produce the documents of the two-wheeler, cops took them to Guduvanchery police station and questioned.

Inquiries revealed that the duo were travelling on a stolen two-wheeler and that their friend Dinesh Kumar, 30, of Thailavaram was a partner in crime.

Later, the police nabbed Dinesh.

The trio had been involved in a series of thefts, the police said.

They were remanded in judicial custody.
