Seven persons, including a few students, were injured after a city bus overturned near Jokatte Cross in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday morning.
The city police said the bus on Route 45 D was coming to the city from Katipalla. As the bus was to join the Mangaluru-Udupi stretch of the National Highway the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.
According to eye witness accounts, the bus was full with commuters many of them being students coming to the schools and colleges in the city.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Manjunath Shetty said seven were injured of which two had grevious injury. All the injured were shifted to nearby private hospital, he said. Eye witnesses said there more persons who injured their hands.
