PM to mark 'Poshan Maah' by interacting with health workers New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with health and anganwadi workers Tuesday to mark 'Poshan Maah' or the month devoted to nutrition. Poshan Maah is being celebrated across the country in September. It aims to reach every household in the country with the message of the importance of optimum nutrition.

The effort will further the objectives of Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) which was set up by the government in November, 2017, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office said.

Under Poshan Abhiyaan, the government has fixed targets to reduce stunting, anaemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) and low birth weight by 2 per cent, 2 per cent, 3 per cent and 2 per cent per annum, respectively, it said.

The prime minister's interaction will bring together various stakeholders involved in the mission. It will also become a platform for sharing and dissemination of success stories in the area of nutrition, the statement added.
