Chennaiites asked to pay water, sewage charges one or before Sept 30

CHENNAI: The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has requested its consumers and assessees to pay water and sewage charges on or before September 30.
An official communication said the CMWSSB has powers to take steps to disconnect water supply and sewer connection of defaulting consumers. It is already taking necessary action against defaulting commercial consumers after giving due notice.

Consumers can pay the charges in area offices, depot office and its head office at Chintadripet. They can also pay online on the board’s website: www.chennaimetrowater.tn.nic.in using debit or credit card.

Belated payment of the charges/taxes will attract a penalty of 1.25% per month. Those living in added areas are also liable to pay water and sewerage charges.
