AHMEDABAD: An 18-year-old youth was beaten by a distant
relative for showing off his
muscles, especially his biceps, outside his house. The youth's flaunting of his musculature didn't go down well with his relative, who attacked him with a blunt object, causing severe head and ribs injuries.
The complainant,
Akash Seshwani, a resident of Kubernagar and a second-year BCom student, in his
FIR stated that he is fond of bodybuilding and as he had gained a good physique, he flaunted it as it made him feel good.
"I am a BCom student and I go to the gym every day to build my muscles. I show off my muscles outside my house as I feel good on seeing my body. Bhavesh Seshwani was jealous about my good physique. He kept asking me why I was flaunting my muscles but I did not heed his statements," Akash stated in the FIR lodged with Sardarnagar police on Monday.
On Saturday evening, Akash left his house to go for garba practice at a party plot and had pulled up his sleeves to show off his biceps. Bhavesh, lives behind his house, rushed to him and asked on why he was flaunting his biceps, stated the FIR.
Bhavesh then started abusing Akash and when the latter objected to it, he got more aggressive. Bhavesh then pulled out a blunt object and started hitting Akash, causing him to fall on the road and call for help. On hearing his cries, Akash's uncle, Dharmesh Seshwani, rushed to the spot and rescued Akash. Akash was taken to Civil Hospital where he was hospitalised for two days.
After he was discharged, he approached Sardarnagar police with his FIR against Bhavesh for assault and causing hurt.
The accused has not yet been arrested by Sardarnagar police.
