PATNA: Passengers can now buy Bihari delicacies and sweets like ‘litti-chokha’, ‘litti-dehati chicken’, ‘Dahi-chura’ and ‘Maner ke laddoo’ at reasonable rates from an e-catering stall which was inaugurated by Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Ranjan Prakash Thakur on platform 1 of the Patna Junction on Tuesday.
While the ‘litti-chokha’ combination (150gm) costs Rs 27, ‘litti-dehati chicken’ is priced at Rs 67.

“The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will run the stall every day from 10am to 10pm and serve popular sweets like ‘lai’, ‘tilkut’, ‘peda’, ‘petha’, ‘anarsa’ ‘khaja’ and ‘laktho’ for the first time. Besides, seasonal fruits like mangoes, litchis and bananas will also be sold,” Thakur told this reporter, adding special care would be taken to maintain hygiene.

According to an IRCTC official, efforts will now be made to sell the delicacies on other platforms of the Patna Junction as well. At least 234 passenger trains pass through the station daily.
