Ace golfer Jeev Milkha Singh will return to domestic circuit after a gap of one year as top professionals of the country will be seen in action in RTs 50- lakh prize money QAInfoTech open to be held at Noida Golf Course from 11 to 14 September.
Winner of the tournament will receive Rs eight lakh, runners up Rs 5,50,000 and third placer Rs 3,10000
The tournament which is 13th event of the PGTI’s 2018 season is making its debut with organizers promising more prize money in future editions.
“Golf in the country is on upswing” asserted Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) CEO Uttam Mundy. “More Indians are now playing abroad in various tournaments. At present there 25 players including Anirban Lahiri and Shubankar Sharma who are in thick of action in high level competition in Asia, Euorpe and the USA.
The QAInfo Tech Open will have a star studded field. Besides Jeev Milkha Singh, among others who are in the fray include Shamim Khan (2017 PGTI Order of Merit champion), Asian Tour regular Chiragh Kumar, Honey Baisoya (2nd on the PGTI order of Merit),Udayan Mane,Aman Raj and Syed Saqib Ahmed(all winners on PGTI this year) as well as Sri Lankans N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera.
The hosts (Noida) will be represented by two time winner on PGTI Amardip Malik, Gaurav Pratap[ Singh, Vikrant Chopra, Rahul Baujaj, Arjun Chaudhari and Pradeep Kumar.
QAInfo Tech MD Mukesh Sharma said that launch of this tournament is keeping with his company’s corporate social responsibility to promote at least one sport in the country” We hope that our professional golfers will hard to bring a medal at the next Olympics”
He assured that prize money will be hiked in the subsequent editions of the edition” This is that start, we hope to raise the profile of the tournament to next level in coming years”
