CHANDIGARH: In a major breakthrough, Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana police on Sunday arrested three most-wanted gangsters involved in murder, attempt to murder and robbery after a brief encounter in
Rohtak district.
The police department said that the arrested gangsters had been identified as Parveen and Sunny, both resident of Bhadana village,
Sonipat district, and Pankaj, a native of Mayur Vihar in Sonipat. All three gangsters had been absconding since 2016-17. Parveen carried a reward of Rs 50,000 while a reward of Rs 5,000 had been announced on Sunny. They, along with Pankaj, had been allegedly involved in the murder of sarpanch’s son in 2016, looting Rs1.5 crore from Nikki jewellers near Chokhi Dhani, GT Road, Gannaur, and firing at a liquor contractor and a sarpanch at Bhadana village.
He said the STF team got information that all three gangsters were roaming near IMT chowk, Rothak, with an intention of stealing a vehicle. Acting swiftly, the STF sleuths nabbed them from Kheri Sadh bypass near the IMT chowk. Sunny had come out on parole from Rohtak jail on August 23, 2017, and had been on the run since then. Parveen is also proclaimed offender in another case. Both Sunny and Parveen were the main accused in the Sonipat jail-break case. All accused will be taken on remand after producing them in court.
