4 former Boks lash team's Brisbane showing

2018-09-10 07:50

Cape Town - Former Springboks have expressed their dissatisfaction after the team's loss to Australia in Brisbane over the weekend.

The Boks let slip a 15-7 first half advantage to go down 23-18 to the Wallabies at Suncorp Stadium.

It was South Africa's second Rugby Championship loss in a row, following a 32-19 reverse to Argentina in Mendoza, and leaves them in a precarious position heading into this weekend's Test against the All Blacks in Wellington.

Social media was abuzz after the Boks' below-par effort on Saturday and four former Boks also chipped in.

According to former flank Rob Louw, there was a "complete lack of urgency" among the Springbok ranks:

1995 World Cup hero Joel Stransky, who handed out the team's jersey's on Friday, said it was a game the Boks should have won convincingly:

Former wing and current SuperSport pundit Breyton Paulse lamented the number of basic errors committed:

Former lock Kobus Wiese, another winner in 1995, said four losses in seven Tests in 2018 painted a picture of the sad state of affairs:
