Jorhat : Briefing to the press the Akhil Bharat Congress Committee general secretary Rana Goswami thank to the people of India and Assam for their acceptance following the burning problem of the nation that they (the NDA led BJP government both at centre and state) really need to deserve as the people of the country showed their response to the bandh called by All India Congress Committee as the bandh was total in all most every nook and corner of the country and the region due to price hike for all essential commodities like fuel, gas, and others turning the BJP led government to be meant only for corporate houses and the rich here today.

Meanwhile all long distance vehicles plying between Arunachal, Nagaland and Assam were all off the road, central government as well as state government offices were at deserted look due to the communication task but government ferry services between Neematighat to Majuli and from Majuli to Neematighat plied  normally with thin capacity of passengers due to non-availability of commercial vehicles to and from Neematighat to Jorhat town only those passengers who could manage their movement by their own means were on board to reach Neematighat for Majuli was witness, while Congress picketers even forced business establishments, shops, plying a heavy vehicles coming from  outside the state halted and asked to give answers over the present scenario of price hike of fuel and others, said police sources here.

On the other hand Jet Airway services to Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai along with Jan Satabdi express plied on regular timing with thin population which was due to non-plying of commercial vehicles to the airport and railway station.
