Online food delivery firm Foodpanda claims to have hit the 3 lakh daily order mark

Online food delivery firm Foodpanda claims to have hit the 3 lakh daily order mark Food delivery firm Foodpanda claimed it had reached the 3 lakh daily order mark as of September 9th. The rise in volumes follows the firm’s recent discounting and incentive campaign in a bid to boost volumes.

The firm had launched a slew of discounts and offers across desserts, snacks and biryani in a bid to boost the order volume on the platform, in the last week of August. As per industry sources, the firm was clocking about 30,000-35,000 orders per day before the discount campaign.

This would imply a 10x growth in order volumes since the start of the campaign. However the incentivising campaign would imply a significant reduction in the value of the orders and hence may not be directly comparable.

The company has seen a substantial increase in the business owing to the recently introduced offerings and its quick ramp up of delivery logistics. The company also claimed to be on track to fulfil its earlier commitment to hire 60,000 delivery riders in the next couple of months. The firm currently has about 10,000 delivery agents on the ground.

Foodpanda will also be integrated within the Ola app to tap into the latter’s large customer base of 150 million in India. Starting with the key markets, the integration will be rolled out in the entire country over the next month.

Ola had committed an investment of $200 million to grow Foodpanda during the acquisition last year.
