Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Women hockey athletes of 12 various teams will exhibit their talent in Bhopal.This tournament, with Rs. 11.5 lakh prize money, will be inaugurated by the Sports Minister as chief guest.
Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Women’s Hockey Cup will take place from 10th to 15th September at Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium near Mayur Park. 12 teams from across the country will participate in this tournament. This 11-lakh-rupees-prize-money-tournament will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, MP Govt.
Participating Teams
This tournament is being sponsored by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). The participating teams are- UCO Bank Harayana, Hockey Kapurthala, Delhi Hockey, SAG Gujarat, SAI New Delhi, Sonipat Haryana, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy Gwalior, Mayor XI Bhopal, SAI Bhopal, Indian Railways, Bina Oil Refinery (BOR) and Bhilai Steel Plant.
Under this tournament, the winning team will be honored with a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs, first runner-up with Rs. 3 lakh and the team which will come in the third position will get Rs. 2 lakhs. Apart from this best forward player, best mid-fielder, best deep defender, top scorer, and player of the match will also be awarded.
Every day 4 matches each starting from 7:00 am will be played in four pools.
