WATCH: 'Kind, compassionate' Brixton shop owner survives store torching

A Brixton shop owner of Bangladeshi descent, and his brother, narrowly escaped death when their shop was torched, Johannesburg police said.
Spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said the owner of Nahid Cash Store in High Street and his brother were asleep when he awoke to the sound of a shattering window in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Speaking to News24, a neighbour and fellow shop owner described the brothers as "kind, compassionate people". Watch.
