BMW Toronto’s Latest Offering Is Attempted Murder

Crimes at car dealerships usually involve vehicle theft, but two employees at BMW Toronto reportedly had much more sinister intentions.

According to the Toronto Sun and CP24, an unnamed dealership salesman was at work and took a sip from his water bottle before noticing something was off. The man apparently become sick and reportedly attempted to treat himself.  However, he eventually went to the hospital.

It’s a good thing he did as police would latter confirm his suspicions were correct. According to authorities, the water bottle was poisoned with engine coolant and that is what made the man sick.

During the course of their investigation, police recovered security camera footage which shows two other men taking the victim’s water bottle and then filling it with engine coolant. The duo then returned the water bottle to service area, where the victim drank the potentially fatal fluid.

Constable and media relations officer Jenifferjit Sidhu told the Toronto Sun the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but the incident doesn’t appear to have been a prank.

The two attackers have since been arrested and charged in regard to the incident. CP24 says Szilard Czippan is now facing charges of attempted murder and administering a noxious substance. Interestingly, the salesman’s boss was also involved in the plot as police have charged 34-year-old Rahim Jaffer with administering a noxious substance.

The investigation is ongoing, but it appears police believe Jaffer was simply an accomplice and Czippan is the one who actually wanted to kill the salesman. There’s no word on a motive, but that one will likely be presented in a future court case.
