Arts festival in memory of N Krishna Pillai

Thiruvananthapuram: A three-day arts festival will be organized by N Krishna Pillai Foundation to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of dramatist, literary critic and historian late N Krishna Pillai.
The festival will be held at N Krishna Pillai Foundation Auditorium, Nandavanam, from September 20. Mayor V K Prasanth will inaugurate the festival.

Krishna Pillai was among the pioneers of realism in Malayalam literature. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of Kanyaka, one of his noted works.

The construction of Malayalabhasha Padana Kendram, a study centre for Malayalam language; digital library funded by V S Sivakumar MLA under MLALAD scheme; audio-visual study centre; and recording studio will be inaugurated during the festival. Cultural conventions, poets’ meet, children’s programmes, short-film screening, Kathaprasangam, seminars and musical programmes will be held as part of the festival. tnn
