'Sarala Puraskar' for poet Satrughna Pandav

Noted Satrughna Pandav will be honoured with the prestigious ' Puraskar' for his poetry collection 'Misra Dhrupad'.

The 'Puraskar' -- instituted by eminent Odia industrialist late Dr and late in 1979 and awarded by the Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust(IMPaCT) -- will be presented to Pandav on October 26.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,00,000 and a citation.

The 39th edition of the award was announced by the Puraskar Committee at its meeting here on Friday, a release from IMPaCT, the charitable wing of leading ferro alloys producer IMFA Group, said.

Two other eminent personalities of Odisha will also be honoured for their contribution in the field of music and art, the release said.

Pandeet Umesh will be awarded the 'Ila Panda Sangeet Samman' and Binod Moharana will receive the 'Ila Panda Chitrakala Samman', it said.

They will receive a cash award of Rs 1,50,000 each along with citations.

Govind Mishra will be the chief guest at the Sarala Puraskar function which will be held here on October 26.
