WESTPORT — The United States Coast Guard and fire departments and harbormasters from surrounding towns responded to a disabled yacht that was experiencing a loss of power in Buzzards Bay Friday afternoon.

WCVB Sky 5 showed the large ship named the "Star Pride" stuck approximately 3 miles from Horseneck Beach in Westport.

The Associated Press said the 376-foot cruise ship with 351 people became stranded about 3:15 p.m. between Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard bound for New York City.

The luxury cruise yacht is operated by Windstar Cruises. Its website says the boat can handle a maximum of 212 passengers with a crew of 164.

The Coast Guard responded about 4:40 p.m. saying commercial tugboats were on the way, and said the ship regained power around 5:30 p.m., the AP said. There were no reports of injuries.

The ship is on a 17-day cruise from Reykjavik to New York. Windstar Cruises reported they expect the ship to resume the cruise.
