Kerala: Muslim, Christian groups come out against Section 377 verdict

Kalicut / Kerala

Several prominent Muslim organisations have publicly come out against the Supreme Court ruling on homosexuality. Responding to the question on Supreme Court’s ruling on section 377, prominent Sunni leader and president of the Kerala Muslim Jamaat Kanthapuram A.P Aboobacker Musliyar said: “If required we will meet the PM as well as approach the Supreme Court itself”.

He said this while addressing a press conference here on Friday.According to the Markazu Saqafathi Sunniyya, the order will result in an increase in crimes. While the Sunni Yuvajana Sangham said that homosexuality was a grave sin in Islam, the Ittehadul Subbanil Mujahideen declared it against human nature. Christians were also not behind in condemning the ruling. Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) Family Commission has termed the Supreme Court verdict as “unfortunate”.siasat
