LUCKNOW: Recovery of a bomb-like object sparked panic in
Sitapur on Saturday. The object was found lying abandoned in a corner of the sprawling military farm in city Kotwali area. The
Bomb Disposal Squad was still working upon the object and trying to ascertain the object.
It was first spotted by a villager in the wee hours of Saturday. Later, the news reached to the police.
However, the police reached the scene late, villagers told journalists.
As they were ill equipped for handling the situation, the message was passed on to senior police official of the district who contacted police headquarters in Lucknow seeking a bomb disposal squad to initiate the investigation in the case.
The Sitapur Police has cordoned off the area to keep the people away from the area.

Prabhakar Chaudhary said that BDS would only ascertain the object. "They are still working upon it," he said.
The Bomb Disposal Squad was still working upon the object and trying to ascertain the object.
