Nagpur: ‘Sangeet Deobabhli’, staged at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall as part of a drama festival organized by the directorate of cultural affairs, effectively portrayed the lives of two women and their unflinching love towards their respective husbands, on Friday.
The Marathi musical drama, written and directed by Prajakt Deshmukh, was staged by Bhadrakali Productions, Mumbai.

The musical portrayed multiple stories into one based on how the lives of two women, Avali and Lakhubai, collide. The only thing these two women portrayed in common was their curiosity and love for husbands.

It was a breathtaking combination of music and drama. The music was scored by Anand Oke.

The story was a sliver of saint Tukaram and his wife Avali’s life. Sant Tukaram’s abhangas were part of the play.

Shubhangi Sadavarte and Manasi Joshi played Avali and Lakhubai with perfection. The actors did not let any moment escape. The play was a huge success, thanks to the justice the actors gave to their characters.
