Shahid Kapoor’s family is now complete, says dad Pankaj Kapoor as he meets Mira Rajput, new baby

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were blessed with a baby boy, late on September 5. Naturally then, the Kapoor household is a happy one. Among those who were the first to visit the couple were Ishaan Khatter and his mother Neelima Azim. Now, dad Pankaj Kapoor too has paid them a visit. On Thursday evening, Pankaj was seen visiting the hospital to meet his grandson.

In a news report to Republic TV, Pankaj said: “I am very delighted that a new bundle of joy has come to our house. A baby being born in any house is a matter of sheer joy and excitement. Similarly, it is a moment of joy for our family and as the grandfather of the newborn, I am delighted and very proud of my family. I wish Shahid and Mira all the very best and many congratulations.”

An elated grandfather told the Mumbai Mirror that now Shahid’s family was complete. He said: “It’s the most delightful thing that can happen to any family. Shahid’s family is now complete. God bless all of them. We are thrilled about the new arrival.”

On Thursday evening,Shahid was seen with daughter Misha in his arms, beaming with joy and waving at the camera.

Shahid is Pankaj’s son from his first marriage and despite the divorce of his parents, early on, Shahid remains close to his father. In fact, his marriage to Mira was arranged by his dad. Pankaj is now married to actor Supriya Pathak and has two children with her.

Shahid and Mira are counted among one of the most loved couples in Bollywood. Their pictures together as a family are a huge hit online. Shahid is, in fact, very close to his half brother Ishaan too. The latter has declared that Shahid remains his biggest influence.

On the work front, Shahid is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu. So tight has been his schedule that despite his wife’s pregnancy, he could only manage a week’s off as paternity leave, unlike in the case of Misha, were he took a leave from work for several months.

Soon, he will begin work on his new film, a remake of Telugu sleeper hit Arjun Reddy, where Shahid will be seen playing a talented but high-strung medical student. For the same, he has been seen sporting a thick beard, as he revealed in an interview with Rajeev Masand.

Pankaj, meanwhile, will be seen next in a film based on the popular short story by Sadat Hassan Manto called Toba Tek Singh.
