GURUGRAM: It was reportedly a yearning to impress his friends by spending money on them that drove a Tajnagar resident to murder his father. The fact came to light when police questioned his friend, whose SUV had been used in the crime.
Hari Prakash (26), allegedly hacked Amarjeet Singh (48) to death in Tajnagar on Monday. Karmpal, who owns the SUV, was arrested on Thursday. During questioning, Karmpal told police that Hari is a spendthrift by nature.

“Almost a year ago, Hari and his younger brother Yogesh got 2.5 acres of land each. Hari took Rs 12 lakh as advance payment from someone for selling his share and spent the amount in partying. Later, he decided to cancel the deal and Yogesh gave him Rs 8 lakh to return to the buyer.

Instead of doing that, he again squandered the entire amount and started pestering his father for more money. When Amarjeet refused, his son plotted to kill him,” Karmpal told cops.
