Even as the speculation was rife that Assembly would be dissolved, Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy tendered his resignation to Assembly Speaker Madhusudhna Chary two hours before the decision.
He went to the Speaker’s Chamber but officials informed him that Mr. Chary was in a meeting and cannot meet him. Mr. Reddy handed over the letter written in specified format to be handed over to the Speaker. Later, speaking to reporters, Mr. Reddy said he was resigning as he was shamed of being a member in the Assembly that had Mr. Chandrashekara Rao.
He said he had forwarded his resignation letter to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP chief on the day he quit the TDP. Since then he has not availed any benefits as an MLA and did not attend Assembly sessions also.
