Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk appeared to smoke marijuana during an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, sparking a range of reactions Friday on the internet.

After Rogan said he was smoking marijuana inside tobacco, the podcast host asked Musk, “You probably can’t because of stockholders, right?”

Musk responded with, “I mean it’s legal, right?” Rogan then said “it’s totally legal,” and Musk said “OK” and took a drag. Both Rogan and Musk are based in California, which this year became the largest U.S. state to legalize the recreational use of weed.

The reactions online to Thursday night’s podcast included Guardian reporter Julia Carrie Wong tweeting, “I’ve lost it,” while tracking the interview.

Tesla’s stock recently traded about 5% lower in premarket action on Friday, with news that Chief Accounting Officer Dave Morton had resigned among the factors weighing on shares.

Video for the podcast is below, and the smoking begins about 2 hours and 10 minutes into the interview.

The Tesla TSLA, -6.79%  chief’s willingness to take risks with what he does online has been increasingly questioned, a recent MarketWatch story noted. He has been criticized for tweeting last month that he was considering taking the Silicon Valley car maker private at $420 a share, with many people assuming he picked that figure because it’s a reference to marijuana.

Other people who tuned into the podcast, which lasted more than 2½ hours, offered praise:

Musk said during the interview that he has a design for an electric plane, and he became emotional in talking about humanity’s reliance on fossil fuels.
