The board of directors approved these decisions at the last meeting. Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) charges a UT-notified transfer fee for different types of residential property, which is 15% of the revised consideration money or unearned increase in case of consensual transfer.
The biggest relief is to the people who were allotted houses in Sector 63 and paying Rs 7-to-10 lakh for the transfer of flat. Now that fee is between Rs 75,000 and Rs 3.75 lakh. Seema, a house allottee from Sector 63, said: “It was our long-standing demand. The earlier transfer fee was very high. The stamp duty and other charges also ran into lakhs or rupees.”
